Morris is such a wonderful town! We have so many treasures here from our unique shoppes in the historic district to being home to one of the largest prairies in the country, not to mention numerous state parks along the Illinois River and the I&M Canal toe path.
Coming to Standing Tall Reserve presents a wonderful opportunity for you to discover even more! Below are links to our very favorite places...the places we frequent...we hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
OUR FAVORITE SHOPPES - MUST SEES IF YOU ARE COMING TO MORRIS.
There are new shoppes popping up all the time.
GiGi's for clothing is great.
A Feathered Nest for unique items and repurposed furniture is super cute.
A Thoughtful Spot is a lovely gift shop.
Montage Wine Boutique & Tasting Room...beautiful decor, knowledgeable staff, really nice wine portfolio - sit at their bar or enjoy private conversation at one of their tables. A fabulous place to stop, sip some wine, and buy a bottle for the evening.
Whimsy fancy goods & fine events...if you like the vintage look, this is your store. Traci is also an event planner and is so creative...I've noticed her signature includes candles and crystal lighting ambiance. Love, love, love it! www.whimsydecor.blogspot.com
The Paper Co...my favorite place from the beginning - get invites, unique cards, beautiful wrapping paper, & there is always great jazzy music playing while you shop this teeny tiny store! www.thepaperco-invitations.com
A FEW OF OUR MOST FAVORITE PLACES FOR A COLD PINT OF BEER, PIZZA, & OTHER YUMMIES...
Letty Mae's Tea Room (Morris, IL)...no beer here but lovely salads and soups, baked goods and tea in a very sweet setting. Perfect for a lady's lunch.
Chop Shop (Morris, IL)...great craft beer, Sangria and nice lunch and dinner. We sit at the bar and get our favorite cocktail with the Asian Tuna Chop Salad or the Brazilian Steak Sandwich. Delicious.
Clayton's Tap (Morris, IL)...great bar to hang at for a cold beer.
Big Fish Grille (Wilmington, IL)...delicious food (and you know how picky we are) next to Yacht Club! www.bigfishgrille.net
Fergie's Bar & Grill (Seneca, IL)...awesome burgers & cold beer!
KJ's Bar (Morris, IL)...a good old school bar.
Lesa's Liberty Street Cafe...great lunch spot - try the Liberty Salad w/ Chicken, Raspberry Vinagrette...delicious!
There really isn't a bad place in our historic district...park at Canal Port, head north on Liberty Street, detour east and west on Washington Street and enjoy it all! Note to self - must stop at Sweet Tooth on Washington Street for a triple scoop waffle cone of the most amazing ice cream!
